🔥 Elevated Sumo Squats 🔥 • One of my staple exercises in my lower body workouts. You don’t have to perform these on a platform however it does allow you to go that little bit deeper. (If you really want, get higher platforms to allow the dumbbell to go deeper below you). The difference here in comparison to regular squats is the placement of your feet. Make sure you are in a wide stance with your toes pointed out slightly. 6 weeks ago Rob told me he couldn't run up the stairs without really getting out of breath. Yesterday I witnessed him running up the stairs in the gym on the way in and then finished off with some fun cardio. He enjoys the plyometric work as it reminds him of football training as a youngster. So we do it more often! If fitness is enjoyable you will work harder and reach your goals quicker. TGIF!!! Definitely put in the work this week. With the Rumba on the Lumber 10k coming up next Saturday, it’s time to focus on rest and recovery. I have one more maximum effort run left on Monday. If a friend of yours tried a new detox program or a new fad diet and it supposedly speeds up your metabolism and ‘shocks’ her body….doesn’t necessary mean that you need to do it or safe to do it. - - Nothing is worse getting advice from someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing themselves but looking for a quick fix. - - Never take nutrition or fitness advice from your friend unless they’re qualified in their field of work. Regardless if she has lost a solid amount of weight in 2 weeks. - - “Boosting your metabolism’’ and ‘shocking your body’ can be a little misleading and literally means nothing. - - If your metabolism is slow, then it’s depending on your body and if you are eating too less or too little or poor quality foods. - - If you think you need to shock your body, then ideally it’s good to see a trainer to help write a training program and be consistent with your training. - _ Eat well consistently, not perfectly. Exercise minimum 3x a week. Find ways to de-stress. Sleep well. Hydrate well. Make it a lifestyle. Most importantly, listen to your experts, not uneducated people. - - KK x

Here's to the best year of my life! As I reflect on the year that has past, I can only be grateful. The time spent with loved ones, the lessons learnt, and the knowledge I have been fortunate enough to gain 😁 I smile daily knowing that I have had a positive impact on people's life's. To be able to help, direct and mould people both physically and mentally is so rewarding!
