Sunday nights mean packing lunches and realizing the kids didn't do their homework (oops) it also brings on a case of the Mondays. How do you prepare for the week ahead? 📷 @jennakutcher
"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin." -Mother Teresa What if we put our worries aside and only thought about what we could do in this very moment to reach full potential? Isn't it crazy that our "to-dos" are what hold us back. What is one thing you're hoping to accomplish today? 📷 of the beautiful Hannah Walters who just went live on the blog. Check it out. Reality = Me in my sweat pants, sipping coffee and contemplating dragging myself out of bed. Thank goodness for a dark roast (🙌🏻 so glad that coffee exists) what do you do on a Saturday morning? ⠀ ⠀ Get more images 📲 like this for free. Link in bio.
FRI-NALLY am I right? I just love Fridays. This time of year they remind me of football games and hanging with friends. They also promise sleeping in on Saturday and waking up on a crisp cool morning, coffee in hand ready to enjoy a day off. What do you like to do on your Friday night? 📷of the beautiful @morganlemieux25
📷 Pro-tip: Before your session, pack a bag with snacks, water and any small objects (like toys or lollipops) that might help me get their attention when it’s time for them to look at the camera. If they are old enough to understand you, it’s a good idea to prepare them for what’s to come before the session starts. Explain how much the photos mean to you so they know to be on their best behavior. A lot of families discuss and pick something fun in advance as a treat after the session if they’re good listeners, like an ice cream cone🍦, for example. It also helps if their bellies are full and they’ve has some good rest beforehand. Once you prepare them physically and mentally, then feel free to give them (and you!) grace! They’re little, and I know that some days don’t always go as planned. I’ve seen it all and will make sure to get you great photos, regardless of their moods. My goal is to make this as fun and stress-free as it possibly can be for you and your family!⠀ ⠀ For more tips like this one, download my FREE Portrait Session Style Guide for a stress free experience. It was a cold winter evening. We were celebrating 4 years of being together. We walked to this bridge with only the moon and twinkling lights to guide us. As we stopped in this very spot, He handed me a card. My eyes skipped everything printed and I read his handwriting that said, "Will you marry me?" 7 months later we said "I do" and Sept 2, we celebrate our 11th anniversary. This photo explains our relationship pretty well. I'd say that so far it's been the best one yet. Here's to many more babe! 📷 by the incredible @katiecookphotography relive our wedding day with us by visiting my story.
Dear time, we often feel that there is never enough of you. I'm sorry if I've misused you. Often enough I fill you with things that are meaningless, take on things that I shouldn't and complain that it's your fault. Sincerely, overworked⠀ ⠀ Do you ever feel like this? I find it interesting that when I try to make time in my life it's when I'm most challenged. Things try to fill the voids I work so hard to achieve. Well I'm here to say, no! 🙅🏼 I want more meaning in life with the things I do. More time with the family, more time serving and more time telling beautiful stories. Double tap if you agree. Check out "Do things that matter" and 📷 of the beautiful Koetsier family who is on the blog today. Check it out! Link in my bio.
Today I asked my self... Is this business worth the work? The answer was a quick yes. Each day I'm inspired by the story of so many and I'm honored to capture just a small glimpse of them. Today I'd love you to meet the beautiful @sophiazolnierek She has begun her senior year at #grandvillehighschool and her and I became such quick friends. There is more to come on the blog so check back in a couple days. Where are my 👩🏼🎓 seniors 👨🏾🎓 at? Tag them below! This is your year. 🎉
Class lists for my kids came out today. I'm not sure if I'm ready for the early mornings again. Waking up naturally is just better. Tell me, how many times do you typically hit a snooze button in the morning? 📷 Kara Hanes Photography

I remember 10 years ago when I was pregnant with our son thinking about how I was going to be a certain kind of parent and never do this or never do that. Well then reality sets in and with a second kid it changes even more. What was/is one thing you swore you wouldn't do as a parent but you find yourself doing it anyway? 👶🏻 Photo of my sweet friend Michelle and one of her boys. Attention: ⚠️ Im giving away my secret. Did you know that I'm a sucker for a good love story? It's images like this that speak to me. When you look at this do you see three people or two? What I mean is do you notice the photographer asking them to hold this pose just a little bit longer? I'm not a huge fan of posing (to be honest it's one of the hardest parts of my job. 🤦🏼♀️ Shhh don't tell) but I want more actual moments that share a story of who they are. I want you to feel how they are feeling. Not pretend to be someone else and hold a hand a certain way because of a cool thing I saw. Thanks to @marymarantz for reminding me of the things I love to photograph most. Double tap if you agree! 🙌🏻 Photo by #karahanesphotography of Parents hiding from their teenagers who were less than thrilled to see mom and dad kissing.
