Felt amazing to march with our community today. Over 4500 people were said to have shown up. That is a lot for Northern Michigan. ❤️
Comment from Aubrey Ann Parker:
Finished up Kaylah Dawson's senior portraits earlier this week... gah, the warmth of that light is beautiful, right!? (Also, it makes me miss the warmth of summer!)
When you’re amazing at the violin, and you just happened to bring it with you to your senior session and your photographers make you play it in the middle of a field. You feel maybe a little awkward, but you do it for the gram. 😋

Working on Abbie Smith's senior portraits this afternoon... makes me miss the warmth of summer!
We absolutely love connecting with seniors, hearing about their lives, what they want to do next, seeing their style, laughing about silly things, and celebrating their time in life. You guys are so dang cool.
When you’ve been watching “The Great British Baking Show” for several hours and you feel like you’ve melted into a happy puddle. This show is ligit tv xanax and I will be calling everything scrummy now and forever.
I titled this one, “Just chillin’ on moss, you know how I be.”
The Faroe Islands are on our bucket list. What’s #1 on yours?
Our favorite place to relax is chillin’ at our big, beautiful Lake Michigan. We go to our secret beach and relax, while our pup swims all day. There is nothing better in the summer.
Our favorite portraits are of y’all laughing. Hands down.
Here’s some sunshine for you. Happy Saturday everyone! ☀️
You may think you are the biggest dog fan, but you probably haven’t met us yet. We have a special power of transitioning popular songs to new lyrics from a dog’s perspective. “All the single puppies” is a classic now. 🐶❤️
Hey I’m Brooke! The shortest of our photo team. I’ll often hand my camera to Michael demanding him to get a certain angle that’s taller than me because I’m so in the zone. I am very obsessed with tea, travel, yoga, and fashion and tend to spend a lot of time reading about them. Michael says I am the creative one of our duo, but I think I just process ideas very fast, whereas he takes his time (which I admire). I’m currently brainstorming new ideas to try in 2018 and I’m extremely excited to play with my photography a bit more. 🤓
Finally taking down our holiday decorations #winning
#tbt @allenkentphoto the first one is a recent wedding of some wonderful people, the second is a 2009 engagement session of yours truly, self-directed, set up, but shot by a good friend. We totally lost the edit on it, but I don’t think it was much different. Proud of our progress in our craft and looking back it was wonderful thinking about all the amazing people we’ve met on this journey.
Trying new angles with brave people = growth
The mountains of North Carolina is our sacred place. Even though we are proud Northern Michigan residents, in the winter we leave for over a month to recharge. To fuel our creative energy, to make plans, and hike, a lot. The mountains hold a magic that brings us back to life in the depths of winter. We can’t wait to get back to our other home very soon.
BREATHE. Our word for 2018. When we have a chance to breathe and reflect, then we are able to innovate better, be a healthy family, think brightly on the future, connect with others, and connect with ourselves. For so long we have been running towards a finish line that doesn’t exist, so this year we are going to stop, look around, and breathe a bit more.
I’m Michael! I’m the Kent half of Allen-Kent Photo/ the much needed tech nerd. My current obsession is #polaroid and I own several different cameras that I play with almost every single day. People have called me a golden retriever because I am pretty energetic and extremely goofy/happy. I just love being a photographer because I get to hang out with you cool folks and make portraits. 🤓
