Mindful Drawing Day 23: Orange. I've got the Aussie flu so not very energetic at the mo and working at small scale in pastel and watercolour. Mostly feeling foggy and uninspired. The final pic is from the beginning of the challenge when I was starting to play with watercolour. But orange is a healing colour - I used to have a giant orange jumper that I wore when I was sick. I wish I still had it as I think it would be a better representation of where my head's at today! 🤒🤧😷

Day 23 Orange. As I grow older this has become one of my favourite colours - so uplifting. Working with cheap chalks that created more dust than anything permanent, but there is something about the impermanence that I love. Now how to get this energy and texture into my painting........ lots of stopping, looking and creating, but the energy of the Orange led the way rather than my breath! #stoplookbreathecreate #orange #mindfulness #intheflow #dailypractice #positivevibes #positiveenergy

DAY 23 ORANGE. Orange between two points. I LOVE orange. One of my favourite colours. For this mindful drawing #30daychallenge prompt, some mindful colour mixing Red on one point. Yellow in the other. One hand from each point, until my palms as well as the paper become the drawing surface. Lot of fun. And smoothly, cooly, sensual. . . . #mindful #drawing #mindfuldrawing #meditativeart #intuitiveart #intuitivepainting #arttherapy #creativity #doitfortheprocess #draw #art #arteveryday #contemporarydrawing #experimentaldrawing #ink #doitfortheprocess #contemporaryart #contemporary #performanceart #drawingvideo #drawtoperform #videoart #arte #kunst #bodydrawing #bodyart #meditation #meditativeart #dharmaart #stoplookbreathecreate

Mindful Drawing Challenge - Orange - 'An abstract of Nothing In Particular'. This is close up from a larger piece I did for today's prompt. My choice to Draw on a large scale has been a challenge. Choosing to use paint and Abstract Mark making has been a challenge, my paintings are usually more realistic. The ultimate challenge for me is Orange.! Breathing, Mark Making for 20 minutes, not being concerned about outcome then choosing one part I felt expressed orange. #stoplookbreathecreate #mindfulness #mindfulart #dailypractive #creativeprocess #arteveryday #acrylic #orange #abstract #abstractart #orangeabstract #creativeexpression #nzartist #acrylicabstract #markmaking #fortheprocess

DAY 22 DRAW BUT NOT ON PAPER Purple Between Two Points. (Palm to the crook of the elbow - see earlier video post). I think making this drawing has resonated more deeply with me than almost any other I've made in this Mindful Drawing Month. It's a drawing about the point and the line, two elements I'm becoming more and more fascinated by, and above everything it's about the body, and the sensory experience of the body, and about drawing as verb and noun. It's asking the question - what is drawing and what is a drawing? Here I am the drawing. And I am also drawing. And I'm also somehow suspended between the two - being and action. Very different watching this to making it, though. How does it feel to you? What ideas and associations come to your mind? I'd love to know. . . . #mindful #drawing #mindfuldrawing #meditativeart #intuitiveart #intuitivepainting #arttherapy #creativity #doitfortheprocess #draw #art #arteveryday #contemporarydrawing #experimentaldrawing #ink #doitfortheprocess #contemporaryart #contemporary #performanceart #drawingvideo #drawtoperform #videoart #arte #kunst #bodydrawing #bodyart #meditation #meditativeart #dharmaart #stoplookbreathecreate

22/31 “Draw but not on paper” Since my entire series is digital this was right in line for me. Sharing from my daily drawings that I do for our grandbaby. I try to choose seasonal items to do for her and journal about various topics in the bottom half. Eventually I will print and bind for her as a journal of some sort to enjoy. #stoplookbreathecreate #mindful #mindfulart #dailyart

Day 22 DRAW, BUT NOT ON PAPER #stoplookbreathecreate #30daychallenge Meditating on the hands I can remember... mostly my grandmother's. I loved looking at those veins like blue fine ropes...little did I realize my hands would look just the same 🙂 My mother's hands never got that old... but they both had beautiful hands, the useful looking kind... Contemplating continuity, remembrance and simple beauty. Breathing easy. #hands #drawing #continuity #reminiscing #beauty #inheritance #generations #womenshands #bw

Day 21 (Big) & 22 (not on paper) of Mindful Drawing Challenge. Playing catch up so combined 2 days prompts. Preparing to clear out and paint the studio gave me an entire wall to draw on- too good to resist. I began with one line, one full circle following one full breath, then added more because it felt good to use my whole arms length to make marks. This is why all my art school paintings were so big- it just feels right! Washing the wall was quite interesting too😂 #stoplookbreathecreate #markmaking #meditation
