It always baffles me that as children, one of the first things we were taught was to say THANK YOU, yet as adults, this is too often forgotten. As children we lived in the present focussing on the happiness found in the moment, yet as adults, we become prisoners to our past and slaves to our future. As children we would colour, and as we became adult we found ourselves drawn to lists. What happened to happiness? Journalling is great way to remind ourselves that the best present we can give ourselves is ‘the present’.
