Boston, what’s good? At this rate I’ll have to plan a festive outfit to wear to school on the 4th of July ❄️
Here’s a helpful #flowchart for my repeat visitors over the course of the school day 😬 Visitors welcome before 7:50, after 2:20, and by appointment if during another period! ——————————— I’ve always struggled with wanting to create and foster positive and meaningful relationships with my students, while also not getting taken advantage of for being, well, too nice. It’s hard when you want to chat with your students all day and make sure they’re happy and feel comfortable and safe. My biggest struggle is asking them to leave when they come to visit my class over the course of the day, because I never want them to feel rejected or like I don’t want them there...but finding a balance is important and the class they should be in is the place they should be! Now is the time to practice constraint and say hi in the hallways and after school. We will get to graduation together!
Does this outfit scream: Student, teacher, or cool soccer mom that drives an SUV and brings the best snacks to practice? Students made it very clear it screams SUV Mom. Here I come #adulthood.
Even though it’s Monday, my 10th graders did a fantastic job individually annotating Tupac’s poem “The Rose That Grew from Concrete” and then coming together to share their ideas and do a whole class annotation. SO PROUD. Pictured are a student’s individual work and two periods’ whole class annotations. #happymonday

Denver, it was real, but it’s time for this teacher to head home and spend the rest of her vacation in Boston!
